A two day trip at Kuala Lumpur

Every programme have their own different intakes, duration of holidays and semesters. For Bachelor of Optometry, there are only two semesters per year, which means five months of study period and one month holiday per semester.

Last holiday, I went back to my hometown for a part-time work in optical shop. However, for this time, I decided to stay at Kuala Lumpur for a few days and visited many interesting places in Kuala Lumpur. After the final examination, my friends and I went to the Sunway Velocity Mall. There are so many shops and it was my first time trying the bubble milk tea- Koi, I had bubble green milk tea and itwas surprisingly good.

For dinner, we had the hot pot kitchen. It serves super spicy Sichuan cuisine but we can choose the spiciness level and ‘DIY’ our own choices of dishes. They serve from mildly spicy to fiery hot, but they also have non-spicy sauce which is the ‘Unique Platter’ sauce. So, it is a suitable place for family or friends’ gathering since it can suit every individuals’ taste. We chose mildly spicy for our dishes but my friends still can’t stand the spiciness level. So, here is a tip for those who are going to try it, don’t wear any lipsticks since you will get a spicy and red lips after having the dishes.

Can you feel the spiciness from the photo?

The next day, we went to Kuala Lumpur Forest Eco Park. It was a challenging day for us because we went there by public transport which are buses and train. From the university, we went to MRT station by MRT Feeder Bus T410 at the bus stop opposite the Ikon mall. Then, we reached Bukit Bintang MRT station by train. We continued our journey to the KL Forest Eco Park by taking Go KL City Bus. It was a free bus which will travel around certain areas and was our first time to ride this bus.

Actually, we should ride on a purple line bus but we hopped on a blue line bus because we were too nervous that time. I was relieved that we were able to reach our destination by the blue line bus too. However, a funny thing happened again when we hopped off the bus at the wrong station. We stopped at Bukit Nanas station and had to walk for 15 minutes to reach our destination. Luckily we went there at early morning so it was a quite refreshing walk. There was a long hanging bridge and we were able to enjoy the beauty of thick forest by crossing the bridge. The bridge was quite shaky so some advice for you all, don’t cross the bridge when there are many people crossing it.

Enjoy showering from the sunlight

After that, we went to Pavilion for lunch. For every different festival, the main entrance of Pavilion would be decorated according to the festival. During the time, it was decorated according to Hari Raya. We had our lunch at the HK Boy Cart Noodle. It was a kind of an a la carte noodle from Hong Kong. We customised our own bowl of noodle and it was so delicious. Their fried wanton was strongly recommended because it is different from the wanton sold outside, it was not wrapped with meat like the others but with tuna.

Do you smell the smell of Hong Kong?

It was really a relaxing short trip after the final examination. I found out that there are still many interesting places for me to discover in Kuala Lumpur I thought that KL only has shopping mall. I will continue to travel around during my short break!
