Hostel Jolly Moments
If you wonder how hostel life will be, please have a look at my article. You will find it interesting. I have a group of housemates who are very friendly and helpful. They always make jokes with each other. We like the moment during the night as we gather in a big room, which is the master bedroom that is owned by two girls from the graphic design course. In the room, we will eat dinner, chat, laugh, sing, dance, and, of course, do the assignments.
I can share with you all how my life will be for a day when I am staying in the hostel without going out anywhere. Early in the morning, I will make myself disciplined to wake up at around 8:00 am. I will take a bath and cook my breakfast, then have it in front of my laptop enjoying a YouTube video. It can be a vlog from a YouTuber or a clip of any drama.
After that, I will continue with the assignments or missions that I need to complete on that day. Sometimes I will walk out of my room just to get some rest with a cup of coffee. I like the moment of enjoying coffee as my afternoon break to refresh myself in the sleepy afternoon. After the break, I will continue my tasks passionately.
During the evening, at around 5 pm, I will start preparing dinner with my housemates in the kitchen. To them, I am the chef, and they are just my helpers. I will cook different dishes every day just to make sure we get a variety of foods in a week. Just as I have mentioned before, we will enjoy our dinner in the master bedroom. It can be assumed to be our dining area, as we always eat over there. The two housemates are willing to share their room with us for dinner as well.
There is a comic scene where our refrigerator is full of drinks. As we like to drink a lot, we store Vitagen, Heaven and Earth, Tropicana Twisters, etc. During dinner, we choose drinks from the following list in our fridge: We used to make a joke that we are buffaloes because with every meal we had a cold drink. After having dinner, we will rest for a while, and then clean our plates and cutlery. Everyone has a duty assigned to be in charge of during dining hours. Some may be helpers when I am cooking and some may be the cleaners after we are done eating. I preferred this kind of hostel life as it felt like having a dinner with my family members.
After a few hours, we will have desserts such as cakes, ice cream, or Swiss rolls. It depends on our moods on the day to decide what we would like to have for our dessert. Dessert will never be the ending part of our beautiful night. We will continue with the movie screening. Lying in bed enjoying movies can be said to be the most enjoyable part, as this can never happen in a cinema. Although we enjoy the movie in bed, we only have a screen as small as a laptop and this has led to a blemish. However, we are planning to buy a projector so that we can have a bigger screen to enjoy the movie on.
Sometimes I might get homesick and miss my family a lot. However, I feel grateful to have these housemates to accompany me. At least this reduces my homesickness. I appreciate that I have these housemates with whom we can always laugh, chat, eat, play, and do everything together, although we are not from the same course and even though we are not the same age.
