Make study easier with UCSI facilities

Facilities in a university are an important factor to encourage students to study in campus. Do you know what are the facilities provided by UCSI for students? I would like to share about three facilities that I often use and that I feel are helpful to me as a student.

First to share about is the public washroom in Block G. It is located beside the GG08 auditorium. I said it is one of the facilities to improve study because students can have very clean and comfort rest room after a whole day of tired studying or classes. This will help them to reduce their tiredness and they get to refresh themselves. This washroom provided more compartments compare to washrooms in other blocks. It is also provided with sufficient toilet papers so that the users do not have to worry if they forgot to bring.

Besides, there is a conference room in Block B, which is the library of our university. The conference room is located at the level 5 of library. The room is big enough for students to have class and lecturers are easier to deliver their lecture contents as there is a big projector screen. In this semester, I have the chance to use the conference room for one of my classes on every Wednesday. My first impression to this conference room is that it is like “parliament meeting room” as there is microphones provided at certain distances. My first feeling of using this conference room is the room is so cold, this might due to the reason I sat under the air-conditioner cassette. The air-conditioner cassettes are placed near to the corner of the conference room. My friends told me that in the middle of the room, the temperature will be warmer as there is a skylight that allow sunlight coming in. I still remember that I get flu after class on the first day of using the conference room as early in the morning I went to school in the rain without umbrella for my class. The long period of getting wet makes me got the flu immediately on the next day. However, I did enjoy studying in the conference room as the room makes me easy to communicate with lecturer during the class even I sat at the very back of the room.

In addition, UCSI provided 24-hours study rooms in Block C. The study rooms are located beside the steel staircase when we walk from Block B (Library) to Block C. If you know about AIS (Architecture Interior Surveying Society) from SABE (School of Architecture and Built Environment), the study rooms are just near to the AIS Cream Day venue. Students often have to make group discussion at night due to their day time was full of classes, hence the study rooms provided space for them to have group discussion at night. This study room is also equipped with a projector, hence students can use the projector to run the rehearsal for their presentation. The study rooms are open daily even during the public holidays. Hence, it is a convenient place for me to have a group discussion during nighttime as well as during public holidays.

In conclusion, students have to fully utilize school facilities in order to make study fun and easy. Universities should provide helpful facilities for students in order for them to learn without worries. Learning environment plays an important role in helping students to achieve their success and this is highly related to facilities provided in a university. Nevertheless, students are to appreciate the useful facilities and not to misuse them as the space for entertainment purpose or parties.
