Food Delivery Services in Malaysia

As a student living at home with family, I’ve been eating home-cooked food every day during this quarantine period. But sometimes, I just really miss the good-ole Mamak, McDonalds, boba, just any outside food, really! I think I’m nearly going crazy with all the plain, healthy food that I’m eating. But luckily for me, there are several food delivery options available to me at my fingertips.

1. Food Panda

Food Panda can be said as the largest online food delivery service in the country, with more than 800 partner outlets in order to provide a wide range of dishes to choose from. Besides, they offer the best 24-hour food delivery, which is great for night owls like me, who used to sneak out at night to Mamak stalls before the quarantine. Their app can be found on both Apple store and Google Play store, and you have the option to pay through cash with a delivery charge of RM 5. The food delivery time is within around 40 minutes on average.

2. Dah Makan

Dah Makan is a popular food delivery in KL and Klang Valley. Their unique selling point is healthy home-cooked style meals made fresh by 5-star chefs every day, which sets them apart from other food delivery systems. Dah Makan can be a little pricey for students since the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. However, there is no delivery charge, and you can often get discounts through membership options and promo codes from social media platforms. Their delivery hours are from 9 am to 9.30 pm daily.

3. Grab Food

Grab Food is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest growing food delivery service. Initially a ride-hailing company, Grab has diversified their portfolio and started offering 24-hour delivery service through its network of transport and logistics. Like other delivery services, they also offer a large range of choices with many promotional codes and reward stamps too. Besides, you can also ask your delivery man to leave your food somewhere such as your doorstep, guardhouse, or on top of your car, to limit human contact during this pandemic.

4. Epic Fit Meals Co.

Fitness enthusiasts and regular gym goers can still maintain their dietary plans during this time through Epic Fit Meals Co. With a wide range from Western, Asian and even Mediterranean, you can get a free delivery with a minimum order of RM 20 within 45 minutes guaranteed. If they take longer than 45 minutes, you will get a free Epic’s Gourmet Flying Pizza. Their delivery hours are from 11 am to 10.30 pm daily.

5. DeliverEat

DeliverEat is a local food delivery system founded in Penang and now operates in Penang and KL areas. They have partnered with many of your favourite restaurants such as Kyochon, Nandos, Tealive and so on. Moreover, they also offer vegetarian cuisines too. Their delivery hours are from 11 am to 9 pm daily.

Of course, if you have a specific craving, you can always order directly from the restaurant itself through their mobile apps or website. Examples of restaurants with delivery services are McDonalds, Domino’s Pizza, Pizza Hut, Nando’s, KFC and so on.
